The way people use space has changed...

We created HEDGE to provide occupiers and Landlords a holistic approach to the market; traditional space, flexible space and everything in between.

What we do

HEDGE exists to provide our customers with next-generation property advice.

Advice that considers the whole spectrum of traditional and flexible space possibilities.

Advice that provides solutions fit for modern Landlords and Tenants, that makes sense now and for the future.

Why HEDGE

We saw the worlds of flexible and traditional converging, but without an approach available to unite them.

HEDGE will seamlessly connect these two fields and provide our customers with all-encompassing advice.

How we do it

Drawing from over 50 years of industry experience, we developed HEDGE from the ground up; unconstrained by existing norms or processes.

Embracing our proprietary technology platform, our work is underpinned by smart data to provide actionable insight, significantly differentiating HEDGE.

This is us

Working with us is simpler, smoother, more fun.
Next generation smart.

JOURNEY:

I’ve been lucky enough to work for two of the largest, global real estate consultancies, but I’ve always been passionate about starting a business; shaping something, creating a brand and a culture, which is the journey I am now on with Hedge.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:

Some of the development work I’ve been involved with for Derwent London over recent years has provided me with incredible experience but being involved with the 500,000 sqft Apple deal and early shaping of Battersea Power Station has to be the highlight.

CLIENTS:

Shaftesbury, Derwent London, Battersea Power Station Development Company, The Crown Estate, Royal London, Axa.

PERSONAL:

I love a challenge and if I can combine it with a charity angle, all the better. I have recently run the Breca Jersey Swimrun and swam the English Channel. Oh, and I have a baby on the way! All change!

JOURNEY:

I spent the last 5 years cutting my teeth and learning my trade at BDG Sparkes Porter in Central London. The opportunity to work with clients on both the landlord and tenant side has helped shape my knowledge and understanding extensively. Working in a niche agency has given me huge opportunity and exposure I would have struggled to get elsewhere and it is this experience that has driven me to Co-Found HEDGE.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:

Advising on Fortune Fountain Capital's London HQ at 7 Clarges Street, securing their successful move into the European market.
In 2016 I achieved a record high rent in SE1 on behalf of the Landlord at 'The Old Fire Station' which has now unfortunately been surpassed!

CLIENTS:

Motcomb Estate, Shaftesbury, The Pollen Estate, McTaggart Family & Partners, Vectis Property Group, OUTFORM, Fortune Fountain Capital.

PERSONAL:

Having spent 6 years living in the Far East my passion for travelling seems to increase each time I go away. When I'm not thinking about being on the beach I can often be found out on my bike or boring someone else with the story of my successful boxing debut for the West End Agents in 2018!

JOURNEY:

In December 2007, I was a co-founder of West End office agency BDG Sparkes Porter which grew to a team of 10 agents. The journey started in an attic room on Percy Street and ended 12 years later on Savile Row in an office with a lift, LED lights and even air-conditioning!

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:

I was fortunate to meet the original Deliveroo team at start-up phase when they were just 4 people with some push bikes and worked with them as they evolved into the company they are today by assisting them to secure their 55,000 sqft HQ in Canon St. However, my career highlight has to be winning the Pollen Estate mandate in 2008.

CLIENTS:

The Pollen Estate, Shaftesbury, Derwent London, The Crown Estate, Frogmore, Motcomb Estates, Deliveroo, 7 Stars, Mindspace

PERSONAL:

I studied Japanese at University and then spent 2 years living in a very rural Japanese rice-farming village, working as an Assistant Language Teacher in the local High School. The main reason I went was to meet Japanese people, learn the language and immerse myself in the culture – although on the plane from London to Tokyo in July 1998, I met my wife and we have been together ever since. She is not Japanese!

JOURNEY:

I started my career at DTZ in Shanghai before moving back to London with them in 2008. For the last 5 years prior to founding Hedge I was a Director at Allied London where I was responsible for the co-founding of its flexible workspace operations as well as leading the regeneration of Leeds Dock.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:

Successfully turning a failed, unloved and apparently unfixable mixed use development scheme into Leeds’ largest and most tech focused workspace district. The highlight of the highlight is undoubtedly securing Sky’s entire digital division as the anchor tenant, with them taking over 62,000 sq ft of workspace specifically for the purpose of creating their new business unit, and growing it from a team of 40 to over 600.

PERSONAL:

I don’t play golf, I really don’t like rugby, football or cricket but if you want to go mountain biking downhill at the risk of high speed induced injury then I am your man.
